In a major coup for the Gold Coast, multi-award winner and fearless pioneer, Laurie Anderson will leave her home in New York to become the first International Artist in Residence at HOTA.

One of the world’s most prolific and unique performance artists, Laurie will perform a series of her incredible boundary-pushing works indoors and out this month, including one world and two Australian premiere concerts.

Known primarily for her multimedia presentations, Laurie has cast herself in roles as varied as visual artist, composer, poet, photographer, filmmaker, electronics whiz, vocalist, and instrumentalist.

Laurie has toured internationally numerous times with shows ranging from simple spoken word performances to elaborate multimedia events.

She has recently finished residencies at both CAP in UCLA in Los Angeles and EMPAC in Troy New York.
