Leading youth performers from US and Australia to take to HOTA stage for Ocean Notes

Some of the most talented youth musicians and singers from the United States will hit the stage with the Gold Coast’s finest young voices this Sunday at HOTA, Home of the Arts.

The Colorado Springs Youth Symphony, Phoenix Children’s Chorus and Gold Coast Choir will come together for a special afternoon performance called Ocean Notes: A Musical Celebration.

The concert will feature a combination of classical and light music, with all proceeds raised from the show to be donated to Northcliffe and Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Clubs.

Vice President of United World Concert Tours, Catherine Schulthess told myGC the American groups are highly acclaimed and have won numerous accolades internationally.

“If you close your eyes and just listen to their performance, you would never know they were High School students,” she said.

“The Gold Coast Choir are also brilliant, and recently performed at the Commonwealth Games.”

Ms Schulthess encouraged Gold Coasters to snap up tickets to the show.

“Not only are you supporting these kids, but by coming along you will be supporting two great surf clubs as well. And I believe audiences will be able to enjoy a tasty BBQ after the show too!”

Ocean Notes: A Musical Celebration is on this Sunday 17 June at 4pm at HOTA. Tickets are $10, with all proceeds going to Northcliffe and Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Clubs. For more information, and to book, visit: hota.com.au/music/ocean-notes-musical-celebration/
