A Gold Coast lifeguard who allegedly ran over two tourists on Surfers Paradise beach late last year has been charged.
At around 5.20 pm on December 23, a 26-year-old man and 28-year-old woman were lying on a beach off Cavill Avenue when a slow moving four wheel drive vehicle ran them over.
The pair, who had come down to Surfers Paradise from Brisbane while on holidays, were taken by ambulance to the Gold Coast University Hospital where they treated for chest and neck injuries.

Police have charged a 24-year-old Burleigh Heads lifeguard with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.
He is expected to face Southport Magistrates Court on February 5, 2014.
