Sydneysiders have returned to Martin Place’s Lindt Cafe for the first time since the deadly siege three months ago.
The cafe’s doors reopened at 10am – around the same time a shotgun-wielding Man Monis ordered the doors locked shut on December 15 last year.

Monis proceeded to hold 18 staff and customers captive for 16 hours before the siege was ended in a hail of gunfire which claimed his life and the lives of cafe manager Tori Johnson and barrister Katrina Dawson.
Earlier this week Lindt Australia CEO Steve Loane confirmed the cafe would reopen with a plaque dedicated to the pair.
Premier Mike Baird is expected to meet with cafe staff ahead of Friday’s ceremony.
Regular trading hours will begin on Saturday.
