Boy, 10, killed in sand dune collapse on New South Wales beach

A 10-YEAR-OLD boy has tragically died following a dune collapse on a popular New South Wales beach this afternoon.

It’s understood the 10-year-old Wyndham boy was digging in a dune at Terrance Beach, Eden on the far south coast when it collapsed, burying him around 2.45pm.

The young boy was initially trapped but was freed and rushed to Pambula Hospital in a critical condition.


He died a short time later before he was able to be airlifted to Canberra Hospital.

Inquiries into the incident are continuing and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
