LLEYTON Hewitt won his second ATP title of the year on Sunday, with victory over Croatia’s Ivo Karlovic in the finals of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championship in Newport.
The Sydney Morning Herald reported the former world number one claimed victory 6-3 6-7 (4/7) 7-6 (7/3).
It took Hewitt two-and-a-half hours to achieve the win after he faltered while serving for the match in the second set and squandered two match points on Karlovic’s serve.

Later ATP reported that he teamed up with fellow Australian Chris Guccione to claim the doubles.
They defeated Johnathan Erlich and Rajeev Ram 7-5, 6-4.
“I felt relief to have finally won here. It’s an important tournament,” said Hewitt, the singles runner-up in 2012-’13. “For me, I’ve come here the last three years and have come awfully close the last two years. It’s nice to be rewarded today.”
