Australia’s mountaineering golden girl, Alyssa Azar, will be the special guest at the launch of outdoor specialist Mountain Designs’ new flagship store at Pacific Fair this weekend.
Fresh from her successful ascent of Everest in May 2016 when she became the youngest Australian to conquer the world’s tallest mountain at the age of 19, the teenager will be sharing her story, signing autographs and checking out Mountain Designs’ new collections, having been sponsored by the brand for the past 3 years.
Located within Queensland’s largest shopping centre, Mountain Designs’ 37th store in Australia will showcase the outdoor retailer’s latest Winter collection and a refreshed brand identity.
The modern design of the new store embraces environmental elements with features including large Poplar trees lining the store’s front facade, cobble stones and rope detailing
throughout the store and contemporary finishes to complete the look including refined and recycled timber panels and rendered concrete walls.
Mountain Designs CEO, Caroline Machado Campos, said the launch of the new-look store sees the brand move in a new direction with the innovative design planned to eventually roll out across all stores.
“We are so excited to open the doors of our new store in our company’s home state of Queensland. Our team has already received excellent feedback from local adventurers and
travel lovers, and we look forward to unveiling our latest look and welcoming shoppers in store”.
The store will opening activities will commence with an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 9am followed by an exclusive meet and greet opportunity with Alyssa Azar who will be signing autographs from 10am-12pm. A schedule of celebrations will continue to take place throughout the day including outdoor food tastings and cooking and gear demonstrations.
