The Honolua Bay event begun early on Thursday morning.
All three contenders for the world title are still in with a chance, including locals Steph Gilmore, Tyler Wright and Sally Fitzgibbons who are through to Round Three after Round One wins on Wednesday.

In other surfing news, a lay day’s been called at the men’s Vans Triple Crown at Sunset Beach in Oahu.
