“This reinforces our commitment to honouring the service and sacrifice of veterans of all ages,” Mayor Tom Tate said.
The free bus travel for veterans scheme is expected to be in place by January next year.
It comes as the City’s Free Seniors Bus Travel has 38,000 people currently registered for use, with approximately one million trips undertaken every year.
Seniors are able to catch a bus for free between 8.30am and 3.30pm Monday to Friday.
