Locals fuming after loiterers smash up Gold Coast cafe

A Gold Coast cafe’s been unable to welcome dine-in patrons this morning after their business was broken into and smashed up overnight.

The ‘One Little Tree’ Cafe’s posted on social media, letting locals know that they’ve got a rather big clean up job on their hands after their shop in Pimpama got broken into last night.

Police were made aware of the incident around 1.30 am, after a delivery driver arrived to drop off today’s goods.

They reported that a window had been smashed, and there looked like a bit of damage had been done on the inside.

Officers attended the scene a short time later, where they found a number of people loitering in the area.

A police spokesperson reports that one, maybe two, men were taken into custody but charges are yet to be laid.

Initial inquiries suggest a trolley was used to break into the store, while photos from the cafe show that their computer was smashed, and their coffee area was trashed.

The cafe is hoping to reopen as normal tomorrow, but for today will still offer Uber and Pick Up orders.

They posted the news to Facebook this morning, with locals now furious but ready to rally around the business.

“If you need help with cleaning I’m more than happy to help, I can’t believe people!!!!!!!” one person said.

“I will certainly be in this weekend to support your business,” said another.

Investigations are continuing.

bloody ratbags, police should go and smash up their house and see how they like it.

They also tried to break into the BWS.

We used to be terrified of the police in our day as if you played up and they got you the kick up the backside. Need to go back to that . too bloody soft .
