Locals Vow to Protect Black Swans

The fight to protect a lake at Bundall and the many black swans who live in it, has been stepped-up today, with an information day held by Wildlife Queensland.

Council is planning a car park at the so-called ‘Black Swan Lake’ on Racecourse Drive but has delayed work for six months due to public uproar over the plan.

There are currently newly hatched cygnets living on the lake and many other fully-grown swans.

Wildlife Queensland is pleading with Council not to bury a well-loved community asset and valuable habitat.
