LOCKDOWN OVER: Full list of City services back up and running

Life is returning to somewhat normal for the Gold Coast this morning after the snap-lockdown across the South East finally came to an end overnight

As a result, a raft of city facilities and services will resume today after initially being halted due to the stay-at-home orders imposed by the State Government.

While most services will be back up and running, council has confirmed community sport across the coast will remain suspended for the next two weeks, as per the State’s top doctor’s orders.


A full list of City facilities and services set to resume from today can be found below:

Aquatic Centres – most facilities will reopen, with Upper Coomera Aquatic Centre and Cuppa Coomera cafe to stay closed until Tuesday.

Normal hours and classes will resume across all Aquatic Centres on Tuesday, in line with current restrictions.

Active & Healthy classes – will resume in line with current restrictions. Bookings are required.

Beaches – flagged areas will be reinstated.

Broadwater Parklands – the rockpools will reopen however the bouncy pillow will remain closed at this stage due to limits on gatherings.

City libraries – will reopen in line with current restrictions. Online programming will continue, with physical programming to operate under current restrictions.

City parks – Parks, playgrounds and gym equipment will open, with barriers and tape will be removed progressively over the next two days. BBQ facilities will be progressively turned on over the next two days. Park bookings for a maximum of 20 people will be accepted.

City-run events – will be assessed individually to adhere to current restrictions.

Community Centres – will reopen in line with current restrictions. Contact your local centre or hirer directly for details of your activity and to negotiate space requirements.

Community sport – no community sport or competition permitted for the next two weeks.

Hazard reduction burn program – will continue as scheduled.

Major sporting venues – Gold Coast Sports and Leisure will re-open at 7am for shoot-arounds and elite sport bookings. Café will remain closed until Tuesday. Coomera Indoor Sports Centre, Runaway Bay Indoor and Carrara Indoor Sports Stadium will remain closed on Monday while the impacts associated with no community sport are assessed.

Meetings and functions will resume in line with current restrictions at both Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre and Coomera Indoor Sports Centre.

Naturally GC program – will resume in line with current restrictions. Bookings are required.

Waste and Recycling Centres (WRCs) – are open. Customers attending WRCs are required to check in using the Queensland Government’s QR scanning app and practise physical distancing, as directed by signage and City officers.
