A hospital just north of the Gold Coast will receive a multi-million dollar funding boost as part of a major hospitals package promised by Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk today.
The Logan Hospital will receive $281 million if Labor is re-elected, in what the minister has described as a “very significant announcement for the families and residents of Logan.”
“As a government the three best things we can do for the people of Logan are: focus our efforts on jobs and training, deliver hospital and health services, and provide high-quality education from early childhood through to high school,” Health Minister Cameron Dick said.

Mr Dick said the Palaszczuk Government was investing $679 million in major redevelopment projects at three hospitals in the growth corridors to the north, south and west of Brisbane.
“This funding is for the refurbishment and expansion of the Logan, Caboolture and Ipswich Hospitals.
“I am pleased to say that Logan Hospital is receiving the biggest slice of the funding,” Mr Dick said.
The Logan Hospital redevelopment will lift the hospital’s capacity from 448 beds to 640 beds, with $12.6 million of the funding to go towards a new maternity ward.
