Logan man among three charged with murder over suburban shooting
A Logan man is among three people who have been charged with murder following the shooting death of a man in Ipswich.
Police allege two groups arranged to meet on Baden Jones Way at North Booval around 5.00pm on Tuesday in relation to a dispute over ‘property’.
A fight then broke out between nine males, who were armed with baseball bats and a gun.
During the brawl, a 31-year-old man was shot twice and rushed to Ipswich Hospital, where he died a short time later.
Four other people were also hospitalised with various injuries, with one man allegedly struck by a vehicle.
He remains in the Princess Alexandra Hospital with critical head injuries.
Following ongoing investigations into the violent incident, police yesterday arrested a 28-year-old Logan man, a 24-year-old North Booval man and a 16-year-old Riverview boy.
All have been charged with one count of murder and two counts of grievous bodily harm.
The trio is due to appear in Ipswich court today.
