Logan man killed while fighting for Islamic State

UPDATE: THE Logan man who has reportedly died while fighting with terror group Islamic State, is the same man who went AWOL telling friends he was looking for a new wife.

Zia Abdul-Haq, who is also known as Abu Yusseph, is said to have travelled overseas in August to fight alongside other IS militants, leaving his former wife and child behind.

He had been working as a Finance Officer for Brisbane City Council and used to pray at the Holland Park mosque.

The Daily Mail claims Haq was prolific on social media – including Twitter – and his account was filled with pro-terrorism material.

There’s some claims he died earlier this month but friends only found out this week.

There’s yet to be any official confirmation.

Meanwhile, IS has also renewed its call for following to carry out killings on Australians and other citizens from countries who are part of the combat mission in the Middle East.

The jihad group’s latest call says non-believers in every country that has enetered into the alliance against IS must be attacked.

It made specific threats against the US, UK, France, Australia and Germany.

It follows a similar call three weeks ago.
