Logan Mayor faces CCC probe into 2016 council elections

Logan’s Mayor has faced the Crime and Corruption Commission’s probe into the 2016 Local Government Elections.

Luke Smith has denied that large donations from developers influenced his decisions in council.

It is estimated he received $377,833 worth of donations to his election campaign.

Those funds were channelled through Logan Futures.

Mr Smith told the hearing in Queensland on Tuesday that while he knew who was donating, that money hadn’t influenced planning decisions.
