Logan men among four charged over alleged rape of girls in park

Two Logan men are among four people who have been charged over the alleged gang rape of two teenage girls in a Brisbane park.

Police say the 15-year-old girls met up with the men in a local park in Calamvale in December, where they were allegedly repeatedly sexually assaulted.

Following ongoing investigations into the incident, detectives from the Inala Child Protection Investigation Unit yesterday arrested a 19-year-old Woodridge man and 20-year-old Hillcrest man.

The pair were charged with 40 offences each including rape, indecent treatment of a child under 16, stupefying in order to commit indictable offence, taking child for immoral purposes and assault with intent to commit rape.

Both men appeared in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Saturday, with the 19-year-old remanded in custody until February 1 and the 20-year-old remanded until February 22.

Another two men, aged 22 and 21, from Acacia Ridge and Runcorn have also been charged with 40 offences each and are due to appear in Richlands Magistrates Court on February 1.

Police say investigations into the matter are continuing.

Well with all this Covid stuff going on the States have been able to lock down suburbs, impose curfews etc.
It’s about time the government used some of these powers to lockdown / impose curfews on suburbs with high crime rates and have the police go in and clean up the scum.
The ones found out to be breaching will most likely be the crims!
Start with Logan, everyday this suburb makes the news with some sort of violent crime.

This article doesn’t mention that the offenders were all of African appearance.

Hello Shanee
Why didn’t you mention the 2 other men were from Brisbane in the t**le.
Stinks of typical Logan bashing from a Gold Coast journo.
Do you see what I’m seeing
What disgraceful bigoted journalism.
The other two men aren’t mentioned till the end of the article because they are from Brisbane.

Poor talent from the Uni these days I see.

Daniel not just journo bashing.
If you look at the QLD police crime statistics for Logan over the last month of January 2021 you will be shocked that there were 1969 cases of major criminal activity in Logan.
That equates to 65.6 cases per day and that’s just the ones that were reported.
Two major standouts were theft and drug crimes.
The poor talent is not from Uni but Logan.(fact)
