Fire Fighters say the property was already well alight when they got there and they were not able to enter. Everything was under control by 9:30pm.
Crews were mopping up until 11:30pm and then handed over to the police who are guarding the scene.
Channel Nine reported that there were no smoke alarms inside the house and that the fire may have started in the branches of a tree and spread to the unit, which has been destroyed. But the Queensland Fire and Emergency Service was unable to confirm those details.
Fire Investigators will head to the scene on Thursday.
