Long bow attracts attention of Police in Varsity Lakes

A MAN will front court after being spotted allegedly carrying a long bow at a Varsity Lakes drinking hole.

Police were called around 11.45pm on Friday and told a man was standing in the carpark of a Varsity Lakes licensed venue with his historical weapon.

He didn’t threaten anyone with the bow or enter the Christine Avenue premises.

The 35-year-old Varisty Lakes local was found a short time later in nearby Lake Orr Drive.

He was charged with carry exposed weapon in a public place to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on September 7.
