Long delays for afternoon motorists after nasty M1 crash

UPDATE @ 4.45 PM | One person has been taken to hospital following a two car crash on the Pacific Motorway this afternoon.

Two cars collided northbound just after the Exit 71 on-ramp in Nerang around 4.15pm.

One person suffered leg and pelvic injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.


They have since been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

The accident has now been cleared, however delays are still being experienced in the area with motorists being urged to allow for extra travel time.

EARLIER @ 4.25 PM | Bad news for anyone heading northbound on the Pacific Motorway this afternoon, with a crash blocking several lanes.

At least two cars collided just after the Exit 71 on ramp in Nerang around 4.10pm.

A number of emergency crews have rushed to the scene, including paramedics, police and firies.

It’s not yet known how many people, if any, have been injured.

Long delays are already being experienced northbound on the M1, with southbound traffic also banking up.

Side streets are also experiencing heavy congestion as motorists try to take alternative routes.

Avoid the area if you can.
