A group of bushwalkers have spent a wet and cold night stuck in bushland in the Gold Coast Hinterland waiting to be rescued.
The group of four, all foreign nationals, became lost in Cougal National Park at the back of Springbrook late on Sunday afternoon and contacted emergency services.
However, officials weren’t able to gain access to rescue them and instead advised the bushwalkers to shelter in place until crews could be sent out this morning.

Queensland Police Acting Chief Superintendent Geoff Sheldon told ABC that fortunately, crews have been able to pinpoint their exact location using the Emergency Plus App.
The rescue operation is currently underway, with the group expected to be extracted from the scene this morning.
It comes after a man had to be evacuated via helicopter after becoming lost in the same location on Saturday.
