HOLDEN driver Craig Lowndes has extended his V8 Supercars championship lead following a win in Sunday’s race at Symmons Plains, Tasmania.
Lowndes’ beat Red Bull rival Jamie Whincup to the chequered flag, while HRT racer and Gold Coast driver James Courtney crossed third.
Fox Sports reports, Courtney joked about being the man that could stop Red Bull Racing Australia’s domination after muscling his way to third with a gritty drive.

“What about me?’’ he asked, when Lowndes was asked if he could stop Whincup.
Ford Performance Racing driver Mark Winterbottom the best of the Ford drivers, back in ninth.
The boys have a quick turn-around, with Winton hosting the next round of the championship this Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of April.
