A three-year-old girl hit by a car on the northern Gold Coast last week will be farewelled at a special and colourful service today.
Luna Matenga passed away in the arms of her loving parents in hospital on Wednesday, just days after she was struck by a car outside the family’s Ormeau home.
The life of the “gorgeous, blue eyed” toddler will be celebrated by family and friends on Monday 28th of December, with a service for immediate family taking place from 1.00pm.

It will then be followed by a ‘Luchella Fun Fair’ at the Mudgeeraba Showgrounds, where friends are being encouraged to wear something “bright and magical”.
Luna’s mother Jessica Feeney took to social media, urging “anyone that knows or feels a connection to Luna to come celebrate her life”.
“I want to let everyone know that we will be celebrating the incredible 3.5 years that my Luna Bear blessed us with,” Ms Feeney wrote.
“Her magic is within my soul and I’m craving for a fun, bright, celebration for my baby!
“Monday 28th of December 2020 at 2pm we will be holding the biggest party/service for my baby, at Mudgeeraba Showgrounds.
“We ask you to dress up as something bright & magical! (fairies, unicorns, tutus, Disney characters, princesses anything that aligns with Luna’s personality).
“We want the day to be enjoyed by everyone, especially children in Luna’s honour.”
