THREE people are lucky to be alive tonight after their car tumbled off a lookout in the Gold Coast hinterland on Sunday afternoon.
The crash happened just before 1.30pm when the silver car left Main Western Rd, near Rotary Lookout, on Mount Tamborine.
It was brought to a stop on a ledge about 80m down the mountain side after slamming into a tree.

It took firefighters more than an hour to free the male driver from the wreckage, with reports two passengers had jumped from the vehicle before it went over the edge.
Miraculously, all three escaped with only minor injuries and were taken to Gold Coast University Hospital.
