Lucky escape as garbage truck catches fire in Gold Coast street

A garbage truck has been forced to dump its load of rubbish on a Gold Coast street after a fire broke out.

The truck was doing a bin run in Parkwood when the fire broke out.

The driver managed to dump the load of rubbish on Gary Player Crescent, preventing the fire from spreading to the rest of the truck.

Fire firefighters were called and extinguished the blaze.

Luckily no one was injured during the incident.

Crews are now cleaning up the rubbish that was dumped on the road.
