The lucky woman from Taringa told officials from The Lott that she had been waiting by the phone with an inkling she was going to be called with news she had won Powerball.
And it turns out, she was right.
“My heart is about to beat through my chest,” she cried when The Lott called her to break the life-changing news last night.
“You have no idea what this means to me… It’s a dream come true. I am feeling so breathless! I think I might faint or throw up!
“You wouldn’t believe it, but this morning I woke up with a weird feeling that I was going to win Powerball,” the woman continued.
“I made sure I kept my phone on charge and that I would be ready to answer your phone call… I can’t believe this is happening!”
When asked how she planned to enjoy her prize, the elated woman said it couldn’t have come at a better time.
“It’s been such a tough time. This is a huge relief,” she admitted.
“I am going to get a house and I want to share it with my family… I will also help some of my friends that have done so much for me.
“I am going to retire too and then I will spend my time travelling around Australia, instead of working!”
The woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, purchased her winning PowerHit entry online at thelott.com.
The winning numbers in last night’s draw were 27, 7, 31, 32, 2, 9 and 15, while the all-important Powerball number was 7.
