As a result, traffic is quickly banking up in the area, with delays already back to Pimpama.

Motorists are now being urged to seek alternative routes or allow for extra travel time.

It’s not yet known how many people, if any, have been injured in the smash.

KEEP OF THE MOBILE PHONE AND WATCH THE ROAD

The car (bearing Victoria plates) that crashed was following us immediately prior to the accident. The driver was tailgating a few cms from other cars and weaving wildly across lanes. It was terrifying. I am so glad he only impacted the median barrier without harming anyone else. Would be interested to know if he was charged as he clearly appeared under the influence of something.
