Lanes closed after pedestrian hit by vehicle on Pacific Motorway
UPDATE @ 10.30 AM | A MAN has been rushed to hospital in a critical condition after being hit by a vehicle on the Pacific Motorway.
The pedestrian was struck northbound at Oxenford around 9.30am.
He was treated at the scene by the High Acuity Response Unit before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with critical injuries.
Several northbound lanes remain closed on the M1, with delays expected for quite some time.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area, with many back roads also heavily congested.

EARLIER @ 9.50 AM | SEVERAL lanes have been closed northbound on the Pacific Motorway after a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle.
A Queensland Police Services spokesperson confirmed a man was struck northbound at Oxenford, near Exit 60, around 9.30am.
He is understood to be in a critical condition and is being treated by paramedics.
Several emergency crews are on scene.
Police are urging motorists to avoid the area with long delays expected.
