Machete-wielding thieves arrested over alleged armed robbery

Two men have been charged over an armed robbery of a man in Logan last night.

Police say a 37-year-old was running along Juers Street in Kingston when he was approached by two men.

One of the men produced a machete and threatened the jogger, who tried to run away before tripping over.

The victim was then allegedly punched and hit over the head with the machete, before his attackers pinned him down and stole his wallet and phone.

They then fled on foot.

Patrolling officers located the pair a short time later, arresting a 36-year-old man and a 23-year-old man from Slacks Creek.

They’ve each been charged with one count of armed robbery in company using violence and will face Beenleigh Court today.
