Magic Millions Fashions on the Field

Local fashionable fillies, alongside some interstaters, enjoyed a spectacular day for summer racing at the Magic Millions Carnival on Saturday.

Over one hundred well-dressed and coiffed hopefuls flocked to the Myer enclosure, where the Queensland State Fashions on The Field Competition was held.

It wasn’t an easy job for judges Edwina Robinson and Adrian Norris of Aje, Myer Ambassador Chris Smith, Milliner Victoria Novak, Marie Claire editor Jackie Frank and Lizzie Stafford from The Courier Mail, with the competition level at an all time high.

And the winners are….

After 10 heats, including over 100 immaculately dressed competitors, here are the winners.

1st Place – Inessa McIntyre

1st

Inessa took out the hotly contested First Place, wearing a Versace blouse and a skirt made by a tailor in the UK. Her unique outfit was put together the night before, from items she already had in her closet. Inessa completed her winning look with a bright yellow headpiece by Irene C, which she added butterflies to.

2nd Place – Yvette Hardy

2nd

Yvette was stunning in a stand-out full-skirted Maticevski Dress with shoulder cut outs and Rebecca Share Millinery. She told me she loves the dress so much she is planning on wearing it to Melbourne later this year. And I don’t blame her! Gorgeous!

3rd Place – Gracyn Masterson

3rd

Stunning 18-year-old Gracyn came in third place with an Alice McCall top and skirt ensemble and Sonlia Millinery. She purchased the dress a year ago and had been waiting for the perfect opportunity to wear it. A cute print for a cute girl and she strutted the whole look beautifully.

Other Eye Catching Designs

The spectators certainly weren’t disappointed with so many interesting designs and features on display. Here are some more head turning outfits from the day…

Having seen all of the beautiful, classy, elegant looking ladies there on Saturday, I can only think that the winner was awarded in the bad taste category!! Just watching the Golden Globes this morning and none of the A-Listers are wearing mish-mash outfits like this years ‘winner’. I’m guessing that Zara Phillips was NOT on the judging panel.
