Major delays after couple injured in horror motorbike crash on M1

A man and woman have been injured in a serious motorbike crash on the Pacific Motorway this afternoon.

The accident happened southbound at the Tallebudgera Creek Road off-ramp in Burleigh Heads just after 3.30pm.

At least five Queensland Ambulance crews, including Critical Care Paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit, were called to the scene.


A man, aged in his 30s, has been rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious condition after suffering head, pelvic, leg and abdominal injuries.

A woman, whose age is not known, managed to escape with minor injuries including cuts to her leg and face.

She’s been transported to the same hospital in a stable condition.

Traffic is at a standstill southbound, with motorists urged to avoid the area.
