Major drug haul in Helensvale
Two men have been charged over a drug bust in Helensvale on Monday afternoon.
Around 405 grams of ice amphetamines was found in a vehicle during a random breath testing on Monterey Keys Drive at approximately 5:00pm.
Officers from the Gold Coast Rapid Action and Patrol Squad were conducting stationary random breath testing on Monterey Keys Drive about 5pm.
The drugs are reported to be worth approximately $260,000.
Acting Inspector Matt Kelly from the Gold Coast RAP said: “This is another example of how policing drink driving and other traffic offences can lead to the discovery of significant criminal matters.”
A 22-year-old man and a 23-year-old man, both from Sydney, have been charged with one count of possess dangerous drugs.
They are expected to appear before the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
