LATEST: Police have confirmed three people have died following a horror crash in Arundel this afternoon.
Initial investigations suggest a black sedan veered onto the wrong side of Brisbane Road around 12.20pm, before colliding with a light pole and truck towing a boat.
Nine people were assessed at the scene, with three declared deceased.

One man has been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Andrew Flory from Queensland Ambulance said officers were confronted with a horrific scene.
“It’s a tragic day for Gold Coast roads, with three deceased patients in just one accident,” he said.
“Paramedics will be provided with some support around the accident today, to make sure they’re all travelling okay after seeing such a traumatic scene.”
Brisbane Road remains closed westbound and is expected to remain blocked for at least the next few hours as the Forensic Crash Unit investigates exactly what occurred.
EARLIER: Motorists are being urged to avoid a major Gold Coast road after a truck and several vehicles collided in the wet weather this afternoon.
The accident happened westbound on Brisbane Road in Arundel just after 12.15pm.
Witnesses have told myGC at least one truck and three vehicles have been involved in the smash.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Service crews are on scene assisting paramedics to remove one of the motorists, who remains trapped in one of the vehicles.
In total, eight people have been injured in the smash and are currently being treated by critical care paramedics and the High Acuity Response Unit.
Three people are critical, while five are in serious conditions.
The accident has blocked traffic westbound, with motorists being urged to avoid the area.
Lengthy delays are expected for quite some time.
