UPDATE @ 8.30 AM | Two people have been hospitalised following a head-on collision in Tugun this morning.
Emergency services were called to Stewart Road just before 8.00 am, following reports that two cars had collided.
One person’s been hospitalised in a serious condition, while a second person is stable.

They’ve both been taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital.
Traffic delays are beginning to ease.
EARLIER @ 8.00 AM | Major delays on a busy Gold Coast road this morning, after reports that two cars collided.
Paramedics, including critical care, have been called to the crash along Stewart Road in Tugun.
It happened around 7.45 am, in the eastbound lanes, and is currently blocking traffic through the area.
It’s not clear how many people are being assessed at the scene.
As many as three fire crews have also been called to the scene, with reports one driver may be trapped in the car.
Traffic is building back towards the M1.
The situation is still unfolding at the time of writing.
