Major Qld highway closed in both directions following horror smash
UPDATE @ 11.40am: A man has died after his car collided with a cement truck on the Bruce Highway at Benaraby this morning.
Initial investigations suggest around 5.50am, a car and cement truck were both travelling in opposite directions when they collided.
The driver of the car, a 32-year-old man, was trapped inside the vehicle and died at the scene.
Diversions are in place via Gladstone-Benaraby Road and the Dawson Highway while the Forensic Crash Unit continue to investigate.
Motorists have been advised to avoid the area.
