Major traffic delays after pet food truck rolls on Great Western Highway

A truck driver has miraculously escaped serious injury after his semi-trailer rolled on the Woodford Bends in the Blue Mountains this morning.

The crash occurred just after 5.30am when the truck, which was full of pet food, rolled onto its side.

The driver was rescued from the cab and is being treated by paramedics for a leg injury.

Initially, all lanes eastbound were blocked, however, traffic is now being directed through the crash scene via the eastbound breakdown lane.

The road was closed for about 40 minutes with major delays being experienced.

Police are urging motorists to seek alternative routes or choose public transport instead.

Investigations are ongoing.
