Got an empty pontoon or jetty out the back of your place? You could be renting it out and making some extra cash.
Gold Coaster Chris O’Halloran is the brains behind Ejetty, an online start-up that is like airbnb but for the boating world.
“Berth owners simply list their available berth, mooring or jetty on the website and we take care of the marketing, rent collection and payments and take a small percentage of the transaction,” Chris told The Bulletin.

“Boat owners search our database of available berths, request a booking and Ejetty sends their details to the berth owner for acceptance.”
Chris said berth owners get to set the price for rental, with most making about $100-$200 a week.
With local marinas overly congested, Chris already has the support of the Gold Coast Waterways Authority.
