Mal Meninga confirmed as new Australian rugby league coach
Mal Meninga has ditched his Maroons jersey for green and gold as he takes on his new role as coach of the Australian rugby league team.
The announcement was made at a press conference in Sydney this morning.
Meninga will replace Tim Sheens on a four-year deal, which runs until the end of 2019.
Mal lead the Marroons to a record breaking nine State of Origin wins.
Brisbane assistant coach Kevin Walters is rumoured to to take over Queensland next year.
