Man, 22, left fighting for life after brutal bashing

A 22-year-old man has been left fighting for his life in hospital after being brutally bashed on the NSW Central Coast.

The young man was found badly injured at a service station on Wyong Road at Killarney Vale just before 11.30pm on Thursday.

He was taken to Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital where he remained on Friday in a critical condition.


Police investigating the attack and arrested a 21-year-old man at a house at Chain Valley Bay on Friday morning.

The man has been charged with cause grievous bodily harm with intent, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and affray.

He was refused bail in Wyong Local Court on Friday and will remain behind bars until his next appearance on July 17.

Police confirmed the two men are known to each other.

Detectives are urging anyone with information or anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
