Man, 23, accused of stealing electricity to power drug crop in NSW home

POLICE have found 121 cannabis plants worth more than half a million dollars growing inside a house in NSW.

Officers raided the Cordoba Street home at Colebee, in Sydney’s west, on Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the marijuana plants have an estimated street value of $605,000.

A 23-year-old man was arrested at the house and taken to Riverstone Police Station for questioning.

He has since been charged with several offences, including cultivate by enhanced indoor means prohibited plant for commercial purpose, cultivate prohibited plant (commercial quantity) and dealing with the proceeds of crime.

The young man was also charged with using/wasting electricity without authority.

He was remanded in custody overnight and due to front Blacktown Local Court today.
