Man, 75, crushed on Qld farm forced to crawl to nearby road for help

A 75-YEAR-OLD man whose legs were crushed in an accident on a farm in central Queensland has been forced to drag himself to a nearby road for help.

It’s understood the man was working alone on a property around 80 kilometres south of Taroom when a bale of hay tumbled off the back of a truck and landed on top of him around 11.30am on Friday.

The 75-year-old sustained serious pelvic injuries and was forced to crawl to a nearby road for help.

Once he reached the roadside, the man managed to flag down a passing motorist who stopped and called Triple Zero (000).

LifeFlight’s Roma-based Surat Gas Aero-Medical Service helicopter was dispatched to the scene to help paramedics treat the man.

He was then airlifted to Toowoomba Hospital in a stable condition.
