A MAN who fled overseas after allegedly spiking a woman’s drink and violently raping her semi-conscious body after a night out in Sydney seven years ago has been arrested and charged after returning to Australia.
The now 31-year-old man is accused of taking the then 20-year-old woman back to his Wolli Creek home after a night out in Sydney’s CBD in November 2010.
While at his home, the man allegedly drugged the woman and violently sexually assaulted her before putting her in his car and dumping her semi-conscious body back at her Sussex Street home.

The woman’s roommate later took her to the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where she was examined.
Police said the woman remembers going back to the man’s house, but nothing further.
Detectives were notified and commenced investigations, however, it was revealed that the man had fled the country.
Following a protracted investigation, the man was found to have recently returned to Australia and was arrested by detectives in Eastwood around 10pm on Wednesday.
He was taken to Ryde Police Station where he was overnight charged with sexual intercourse without consent and use intoxicating substance to commit serious indictable offence.
The man was granted conditional bail to attend Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday, December 13.
