Man accused of fatally stabbing Gold Coast mother had DV order

UPDATE: The man accused of fatally stabbing his step-daughter in the heart over the weekend had a domestic violence order out against him, a court has heard.

Raymond Mead, 49, is accused of stabbing Gold Coast mother of three, Sherelle Locke, 23, to death at a Boronia Heights home on Sunday night.

He was charged with one count of murder.

The case received a brief mention in the Beenleigh Magistrates Court on Tuesday morning, however Mead did not appear.

It was revealed Mead has also been charged with contravening a domestic violence order, which was in place at the time of the attack. However, it is not yet known as to whom was covered by the domestic order.

No application for bail was made. The matter will return to court on April 15.

EARLIER: MORE details are emerging about the frantic moments before a Southport woman was stabbed to death in her mother’s home.

A friend has told News Limited, he was online with Sherelle Locke just before she arrived at the Boronia Heights home on Sunday night.

Sherelle told him her stepfather Raymond Mead had been drinking heavily and had been abusing her and her mother Marlene.

“She said her mother was planning to leave him and she went to help her,” the friend said yesterday.

“She was sick to death of the way he was treating (her and her mum). She said he was drinking and abusive.”

The 23-year-old was found with a stab wound to her chest when emergency crews arrived around 11.30pm and were unable to revive the mother of three.
