Man accused of inciting boy to commit ‘indecent act’ in toilet

A 64-year-old man has been charged after he allegedly incited a young boy to commit an indecent act in a public toilet on Sydney’s northern beaches over the weekend.

Police say the man approached two boys, aged 8 and 11, in a toilet block on Howard Avenue in Dee Why about 2.40pm on Saturday.

The man allegedly pushed the younger boy before grabbing the older boy and inciting him to commit an act of indecency.


NSW Police said officers were notified of the incident and immediately commenced an investigation.

“About 30 minutes later, the man, from Dee Why, was arrested nearby,” police said.

“Hewas taken to Manly Police Station where he was charged with incite person under 16 years to commit act of indecency and common assault (x2).”

The man was granted conditional bail to appear before Manly Local Court on Wednesday 28 November.
