Man charged after producing replica firearm at Tweed hospital
A MAN is due to face court today after allegedly producing a replica firearm at a hospital in Tweed Heads overnight.
Just after 9pm, police were called to a hospital on Powell Street, following reports a man was verbally abusing staff.
The man was detained by security after allegedly pulling out a replica gun.
The 37-year-old was arrested by responding police and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he was charged with possess unauthorised firearm, two counts of stalk/intimate intend fear physical harm, and custody of knife in public place.
The man was refused bail to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court today.
