Man accused of shooting woman in the leg

A MAN has been arrested and charged with shooting a woman during a fight inside a unit in Sydney’s south-west.

The 27-year-old woman attended Liverpool Hospital with a gunshot wound to her leg around 6.15am on Sunday, November 5. She’d allegedly been shot inside a unit on George Street.

Police were called and, following investigations, arrested a 28-year-old man at a home on Heckenberg Avenue at Busby around 8.30pm on Saturday.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station where he was charged with discharging a firearm with the intention to cause grievous bodily harm.

The 28-year-old was refused bail and due to appear in Parramatta Bail Court on Sunday.

Inquiries into the shooting are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
