Man accused of smashing into unit block with a shopping trolley

A man will face court, accused of using a shopping trolley to smash his way into a unit complex in Sydney’s south.

Police were called to MacMahon Street in Hurstville around 8.45pm on Saturday, following reports a man was trying to break in.

Witnesses say he used a shopping trolley to smash through the glass front door.


When Police arrived they found the 29-year-old hiding behind a fence with cuts to his hands and legs.

He was arrested a short time later, allegedly assaulting police.

During a search, officers allegedly located breaking implements.

He will appear in Parramatta Bail Court today, charged with a range of offences including break and enter and assaulting Police.
