Man accused of Sydney train station assault

A man has been charged over an assault at a south-western Sydney railway station.

Police say a 53-year-old man got off a train at Leumeah Station when he was approached by another man who had been on the same train at about 6.20am on Sunday.

Police will allege a 21-year-old man verbally and physically assaulted the older man.


The injured man was taken to Campbelltown Hospital with a possible broken leg.

Police from Campbelltown Local Area Command were notified and commenced an investigation.

Two men aged 21 and 24 went to Campbelltown Police Station about 10am on Monday.

The 21-year-old man was charged with reckless grievous bodily harm.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on Monday August 8.

The 24-year-old man was not charged.
