Man airlifted following horror truck and car crash in NSW

A man has been airlifted to hospital following a horror truck and car crash in the NSW Shoalhaven region.

The accident happened just after 9.35am, at the intersection of the Princes Highway and Turpentine Road at Tomerong.

“Initial investigations suggest a Mack truck travelling east on Turpentine Road, and a Mercedes Benz convertible travelling south on the Princes Highway, crashed at the intersection,” NSW Police said in a statement.

The driver of the Mercedes, a 52-year-old man, was trapped for a short time before being rescued from the car. He was then airlifted to St George Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the truck, a 23-year-old man, was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A crime scene has since been established with investigations into the crash ongoing.
