PROTECTIVE clothing and a helmet are being credited for saving the life of a man who crashed his motorbike in the Sunshine Coast hinterland.
The man was riding through the Glasshouse Mountains with mates on Saturday morning when he came off his bike around 10.30am.
Paramedics treated the man at the scene for suspected chest and back injuries in the accident.

He was then airlifted to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital by the RACQ LifeFlight Rescue helicopter.
He was flown in a stable condition.
A LifeFlight spokesperson said the man’s protective clothing and helmet significantly reduced the impact of his injuries and essentially saved his life.
